Mrs Yian’s class is structured and engaging. Her ATW (Answering Techniques) lesson is extremely useful for Vernice.

Mrs Yian is extremely personable and has connected very well with her students, especially during the CB period, which all the Online Zoom lessons were organized properly by her.

Cheng Ru started his Science enrichment course with Mastery Science since P3. Under the guidance of Mrs. Yian, he has always been able to cope well with Science. He enjoyed Mrs. Yian classes a lot and commented that the classes are always fun. Mastery Science has helped my daughters to understand Science topics better. Before each lesson, Mrs Yian would give them notes that are easy to understand. They would go through them as a class, sometimes watching fun and interesting videos. Every new topic that they cover, they would do hands on activities that are enriching and most importantly fun! Mrs Yian would go through any challenging questions that they have throughout the year and encourage them to write it down in their notebooks for revision. Both my daughters have achieved A* in their PSLE.

My son has been with Mastery Science for 6 years since he was in primary school. Under the guidance of Mrs Yian in primary and Mr Yian in secondary school, he has been performing extremely well.

Both Mr and Mrs Yian are extremely passionate, patient and helpful teachers. Their teaching methods are effective and individually focused on the student.

I count my blessings to have good teachers supporting my son in his academic journey.

Before attending Mastery Science, my son was struggling to understand some of the principles and did not seem to enjoy studying his science topics. After attending Mr Yian’s classes, it looked like he enjoyed the subject much more and could understand what the books were talking about. Mr Yian was able to explain the topics in a way that he could understand and he enjoyed the classes. Mr Yian was also very encouraging towards My son. This really spurred him to want to learn more and was always looking forward to classes. Thank you Mastery Science for helping my son with his science. You guys are doing a great job!

Being Science students and still working in the Applied Sciences fields ourselves, my husband and I coached our daughter in Science from P3-P5. However, it was a different ballgame altogether. In our time, we only needed to memorise and regurgitate the answers. Now, not only do the kids need to have a good grasp of the concepts, they also have to apply, condense and phrase this knowledge into concise sentences.

Our girl started to attend the Answering Technique class in Feb 2019 in preparation for PSLE. Mrs Yian taught her how to phrase the answers and memorise model answers. When revising mock exam papers with my girl, I noticed how her answers had improved to be more ‘on point’ than beating around the bush and yet not hitting the spot. Her marks improved: 56% (CA1) —> 76% (SA1) —> 86% (Prelims).

Many thanks to Mrs Yian’s experience and patient coaching, my girl achieved a quality Science pass amongst the 48% in her school

cohort in the recent PSLE. She couldn’t have done it without Mrs Yian’s guidance!
